The Real Secret is Action Combined with Positive Thoughts

I have seen “The Secret” and also “Beyond the Secret” where the figureheads explain that you can have whatever you want in life by using The Law of Attraction.
I do believe that there is some truth to The Law of Attraction, however, the marketers make it sound like all you have to do is think positive and everything in your life will happen the way that you want it to.
If you do absolutely nothing, but yet think positive, nothing much is going to change. Now I realize that to successfully market something, you have to make it sound like anyone can do it and that it requires minimal effort. However, I do think that it is misleading how The Law of Attraction is being marketed.
The secret to the Law of Attraction is taking action while also thinking positive thoughts. It is no secret that a person who is happy and smiling will attract similar people into his or her life. Then through that connection, maybe that person will be able to connect you to your dream job, or become your soul mate lover.
It has been proven and studied in brainwaves, that simply repeating to yourself “I can do it” will get rid of anxiety and any doubts in your mind. I know that simply repeating that phrase to myself calms me down and helps me press on with my goals.
When I first heard of The Secret and The Law of Attraction, I thought that it was interesting and would give it a try. Of course, I realized that the bigger secret is actually taking action. Within a couple weeks of discovering The Law of Attraction, I discovered a check in the mail from my old employer. I had forgotten to cash a check from my previous employer dated about 6 months ago and had completely forgotten all about it. I quickly connected the two and thought to myself that what happened was cool. I will never forget that. Now of course, the check did not appear out of nowhere, I actually had to work for that check, but still, that incident got me thinking.
Currently I am trying to start my own business and whenever I get stuck or get down, I tell myself that I can do it. We will see where it leads me!
