Power of Belief - it takes more than Positive Thinking to Enable Success
Building BeliefBelieving in the Power of Belief is one of those things that is simple but not easy. It takes time and consciousness. Unless you've had some sort of dramatic spiritual vision or awakening, you will probably maintain a core of doubt that thoughts can change reality. But you should be able to believe that thoughts can change your perception of reality and that changing your perceptions can change your responses.
Taking the Power of Belief theory to it's ultimate. We should be able to fly without an airplane, walk on water, change water into wine, heal with just a thought. But to do these things our belief, our faith must be strong enough to overcome our 'knowledge'. Our faith and belief must be as strong as the Buddha's, Mohammed's, Jesus'. Until it is that strong, we must work within and on our current beliefs.
Don't try to take big leaps of faith, like eliminating your belief in the medical profession or medicine. That's just too big a change for almost everyone. Just add the belief that you are or will be healthy. That the medicine will work quickly and thoroughly to cure you. Then you can add that you are developing a natural immunity. Eventually you should be able to state with total belief that you have a natural immunity. Believe that the Power of Belief is more than just a change of attitude and awareness, but that's the first step. Being in a positive frame of mind makes it much easier to believe in possibilities and to believe in the Power of Belief. Start with your logical, rational brain. Accept that a change in attitude, expectation and awareness can change your life. Work on changing those to be more positive and uplifting. Watch the changes in your life that this brings about. Changing from a negative to a positive attitude might be the hardest step. So the first step is to consciously watch for good things and acknowledge them. When someone lets you pull in front of them in traffic, after you wave your hand in acknowledgement, acknowledge and reflect on the good in your life and the world. There are a lot of good, kind, considerate people in the world. If a negative thought pops up, gently turn it to the side or let it roll off you. What do I mean by this? If someone cuts you off in traffic, don't get mad, think about a good reason he might have to be in a hurry. Maybe his wife went into labor, or her child got hurt and is on the way to the hospital. It definitely wasn't meant as a personal assault or insult toward you. If someone calls you stupid, smile and say to yourself "that's just your opinion. I know I am intelligent". Work on building up your self-esteem, self-confidence and worthiness. Reflect on the things you do right or well. "That went well". "That wasn't as hard as I thought". You can even recite affirmations: 'I am a child of God and perfect in his eyes'; 'I am one with the universe and deserving of having my wants provided'; "Whatever I can conceive and believe, I can achieve".
All this builds up your belief in what may be possible and increases your ability to use the Power of Belief and Law of Attraction. Appreciate what you have Later I moved on to appreciating things that I use to help me, like the Internet, or a friend. I appreciate my boss who is caring and understanding (especially when I see the bosses some others have). Eventually you should be able to appreciate something about everything and everyone, even something that usually makes you angry. You're stuck in traffic and appreciate the air conditioning in your car. Someone at work requests you to do something even if you are over worked now, you think 'That's nice that she thinks I can do this' or 'That will be a nice change of pace when I get to it'. Then start thinking about little things going right in your life. Believe that they will go the way you want.
Work with these small things that are somewhat under your control to consciously and purposely think positive thoughts about them. When they regularly work out well you should move onto more difficult topics. Something a bit larger but still directly affected by you like getting an assignment or project that you had asked for. Then move on to things that are small, but less directly controlled by you, like finding a parking spot close to the door, catching the traffic lights just right so you don't have to stop. When you see these things working just by thinking about them. It should be easy to believe that it works for everything. Keep pushing it as far as you want. Your imagination is the only limit to what you can do with the power of belief.
