Power of Belief Enables SuccessThe Power of Belief or the Power of Intention (Intention Manifestation) is not magic, although it can seem that way sometimes.
Morris E. Goodman was told he'd never be able to breath on his own, much less eat, dress himself, or walk. He was in an airplane crash and was paralyzed from the neck down. All he could do to communicate was blink his eyes. But he still had his mind. He knew "What a man thinks about, he becomes". He believed this completely. He thought and worked himself off the ventilator, off the feeding tube and out of the wheelchair. Doctors have no medical explanation.
This amazing Power of Belief is available to everyone, but few use it well. Religious support
Verily, His Command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, "BE!" and it is! (The Quran 36:82) "All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become." Buddha
I don't think of the Power of Belief as magic. For me it's more of an opening up of awareness. Thinking positively about something, changes the filter through which you view the world so that you are more aware and receptive toward the things that would bring you want you're thinking about. You can consider the Power of Belief as calling on the force of the universe to set up a path to the achievement of your dream. You still must walk that path. If you believe and remain aware of your dream, you will notice what you need. Your mind will add the dream to the filter through which it makes you aware of things. Huh? Filter? Dream? Let's back up a bit and start with the concrete.
Thoughts are the Key to everything Every invention started with a thought, from a chair to airplanes and submarines. They all started with someone having a thought. Then the thought was acted upon. This is where the Power of Belief comes in. The more strongly you believe it's possible, the more strongly you will feel compelled to do something about it. The more aware you will be of different ways of accomplishing it. I'm sure many people thought of the chair, airplanes and submarines, but few truly believed to the point of acting upon those thoughts. Filter of the mindBelief affects everything we do. Our minds filter everything thing we do, see or experience. There is just too much information to take in details of everything all the time. Take a glance around you. Look at all the different items with different sizes, shapes, colors etc. Assuming you are in a room, without looking at it, what is the door made out of? How big is it? What color? Texture? What about it's frame? How much of this detail did you remember? Your eyes 'saw' every detail with the first brief glance, but your brain didn't. You had no need or interest in the detail. So our minds filter and index based on our beliefs and interests. I'm interested in cars only as a means of transportation. So I only notice the big facts: color and size. Blue Truck, white car, red SUV. I'm sure there are some people that, at a quick glance, could give you 'Blue 2007 Ford F150 Pickup', or 'Red 2008 Honda CRV'. 10 people witness a crime and give 10 different descriptions based on how their mind filtered it. The criminal maybe only be 5ft. 6in. but because he appears menacing to someone, they think he is over 6ft tall. A clothes designer would notice her clothes. A hair stylist would notice his hair. A gun collector would know what kind of gun and what it could do, but might never notice the clothes, hair or eye color. Your mind filters according to your beliefs too. If you think people are nasty and rude, you will notice every nasty or rude or unintentional slight to reinforce that belief. Any time you encounter politeness, you discount it as an exception. Even if you actually encounter more politeness than rudeness. There's a saying that people will believe what they want to believe. You've probably run into people that won't change their belief on something no matter how strong the evidence is to the contrary. That's their filter at work. I've read somewhere that an eye witness is actually one of the least reliable pieces of evidence because the mind plays such tricks with it's filters. There have been studies on how different people perceive the same thing differently. If told that there are 3 traits needed to get a particular employment position that they want and they only have 2 of those traits, a person will discount the trait they don't have as unimportant. No matter what that trait is. To a person with traits A and B but not C, C won't matter. The person with B and C, but not A, will say A doesn't matter. This way they can feel good about their prospects even if all three traits are equally important. What's more, they will behave that way! They will appear confident and perhaps this confidence will sway the interviewer. Positive Thinking and Health The placebo effect is an example of the Power of Belief. You've probably heard of the placebo effect. That's where people are split into groups and given 'medicine' to help with an ailment. One group gets the actual medicine and the other groups gets a placebo, a sugar pill or something similar that won't help the illness in any way. Some people that get the placebo react as if they got the real medicine. Their minds tell their body that it got medicine to help it and should get better, so it does!! They believe in the medicine. It is well documented that attitude and state of mind affects our health. Depression can cause all sorts of health problems from anorexia to obesity, from colds to heart attacks. An Anorexic's mind tells her that she is fat and needs to diet and exercise no matter what evidence there is that she is actually far too skinny and needs to put on weight. She believes she's overweight. Doctors know that a patients attitude affects how well a treatment works. Many people have recovered from 'incurable' health problems by having a positive attitude and surrounding themselves with laughter. By 'thinking' themselves well. Such is the Power of Belief.
Beliefs like 'there is only so much to go around' and 'to be wealthy is to be mean, nasty or selfish' and 'I must limit my wants to be a good person' are what we call Hidden Beliefs. They are deep in our sub-conscious. We don't consciously think about them. We might even deny them in our conscious minds. But they are there limiting us. Coloring our view of life and the world. It's these types of beliefs that must be changed for you to get everything you want. You must build a belief that you can and should get what you desire. You must believe that there is, and always will be, more than enough to go around. Read more about Building Belief. The power of belief is limited only by your mind.
