The Law of Attraction steps to Success

The Law of Attraction (LOA) has been making quite a splash. It's the subject of the movie "The Secret". The Secret and the Law of Attraction were featured on Oprah in 2007. It can even be found in places you wouldn't think about. But what is it? What are its benefits and problems? What does it mean to you?

I'll explain LOA. Give you the three general steps to use it. Give an example using weight loss. And I'll talk about my own experience with it.

The LOA is the same as 'You Are What You Think'. Have you heard of 'You are what you think'? Both of them mean that what ever you think about the most is what you get in life. This is also called "Intention Manifestation". That is, consciously creating your reality.

In a management seminar I heard the phrase "What you pay attention to, you get more of". In the book "The One Minute Manager", Kenneth Blanchard and Spencer Johnson emphasize catching people doing right to get them to do more of it.

What's your Focus?
Law of Attraction

Both of these are actually using the Law of Attraction. What you focus the most on is what you get. If you focus on mistakes and problems, you will get more mistakes and problems.

Sounds simple doesn't it? It is.

If you always think about how broke you are. You will always be broke.

If you always think about how you can't lose weight. You won't lose weight.

If you always think about how rich you will be. You will become rich.

You could say it's a variation of the Power of Positive Thinking. But as a "Law" it goes further than just positive thinking.

It's proponents would have you believe that Everything that happens to you, good, bad and neutral, happens because of your thoughts. You are the creator.

LOA is not just for creating wealth. It's for self-improvement and improvement of anything in your life that you want changed.

I have used it to get a new job, a new house, to have projects go well, even to remember things in the grocery store.

The Law of Attraction works, but it's not magic

There are 3 basic steps to the process.
  • 1) Think of the change you want.
  • 2) Believe that the change will come.
  • 3) Apply yourself to making that change.

The first step is fairly easy. Why to I qualify it with 'fairly'? Because many people are very general about what they want. For example, many just say "I want to get rich" without defining what 'rich' is.

Is 'rich' earning $100,000 per year? Is 'rich' having great connections with family and friends? Is rich having 5 cars to chose to drive? (Which car? 4 Chevy's that are 10 years old and an old VW? or a Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Mustang, and Jeep all in current models?)

You need to be as specific as you can imagine and believe. Perhaps it's a 3000 square foot home with 5 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. A full basement finished as a recreation room and media room.

Picture every detail of what 'Rich' is to you: Home, work, vehicles, travel, social life.

Visualize what you want whether that is to get rich, lose weight, win a competition. See it, touch it, smell it, hear it, taste it, feel the emotions associated with it.

The emotional connection is what really gives it power.

I'm sure you can do well with this step, then on to Step 2 in the Law of attraction, Believing.
