Life is to be enjoyed while learning and growing as a person. That is what I believe. That's what I always wanted to believe, but I couldn't quite do it before. I was always trying self improvement, but wasn't too successful. I read many, many positive thinking, motivation, time management and success books. Until I realized that change must come from changing the way I think about events and myself. All therapy is really self therapy, so all personal improvement is self improvement. You can grow or improve your self-confidence, happiness, finances, career, relationships, health and home. Wherever you are now, whatever your circumstances, you can make it better with thoughtful self improvement. You can't wait for something outside yourself to change. Change must come from inside. Your work won't improve unless you improve. Your relationships won't improve unless you improve. Society won't change unless the people that live in it change, and that's you. YOU are the only person YOU can change. While self improvement is not contagious like a cold or flu, a change in you can influence a change in others.
'You must be the change you want to see in the world.' - GandhiI know you can conquer feelings of powerlessness, hopelessness, fear, and oppression. Take power and control into your own hands and create the future you want. I've been a "self-help junkie" for over 30 years. From losing weight, to increasing emotional intelligence, to how to raise teenagers, to getting rich. I've read and tried a lot of different formulas until I found what works and what doesn't. I find several things flawed with most self-help / personal development / self improvement books and articles:
Improvement is usually slow, but I can speed it up for you. Here you will explore self-improvement from the inside out. Thoughtful Self Improvement can help you change, at your own pace, in your own way. I'm a women in my 50's and very introverted, but no longer shy. I'm a single parent of 3 grown children. I have lived and struggled and changed. I was broke and depressed, even suicidal. But I was able to change - slowly - over years. But now I have the home of my dreams and joy every day. I hope to help you change and improve your life much more quickly than I was able to. (please see my Bio). If you're ready to work, you can change your life, reach your potential and create the success you're craving. There is no quick and easy way to change. And for the change to last it must be done at a deep level. Often times the deeper the level, the slower but more permanent the change is. My unique view point can help you with your self improvement and make that deep, lasting change.
Don't fall for a quick fix placebo, like the Law of Attraction. I definitely believe in the power of belief, and the power of positive thinking, but the Law of attraction takes that to the level of miracle drug. In this self improvement, you can use what you are now to become what you would really like to be. You don't have to be a clone of a successful person. In fact, that doesn't work! In order to have lasting change, you must remain you. Be a better you. No one else can. You can copy successful people, but that will only take you a little way. Big changes come from the inside. I'm continuously working on self improvement. Join me on this journey. I'll teach you what I've learned. How I adapted what 'the gurus' said so that it worked for me. Since everyone is unique, no one method will work for everyone. And sometimes it just takes a different way of saying something you already know to trigger a leap in self improvement. The advice of 'the gurus' was helpful but improvement was small. It wasn't until I started doing 'inner work' that things really started to change. So I recommend you start with Changing your thoughts.
